Strange Dreams Continued

Part of the farm

This is actually a continuation of yesterdays post. It is unusual for me to have bad dreams or truly disturbing ones, but I did overnight in the early morning. In this dream, my husband, one of his his brothers, Daniel and myself took a trip to a town 30 miles from here early one morning. (There is no town just 30 miles from here in reality from that trajectory) I had thought we should stay home that day, but we did not want to disappoint those in our party. I think I might have been a Saturday. We were in the minivan listening to the radio when Rush Limbaugh came on telling us of an attack on America. Not a minute after that, we saw planes and bombs from the sky. There was loud noise and destruction around us. Traffic was quickly obstructing our path in the minivan, the road was damaged, and we were sitting ducks. There was a man who was was killed in the street by flying glass, and a dog who was injured whose owner was calming him. We parked the minivan between some white concrete buildings in a small parking lot, and left a note with our cell phone number, saying we would be back to get it when we could. One of us did that while I took Daniel in one of the buildings to get drinks. (The store which had the small parking lot) We had eaten, but we needed lots of bottled drinks, if we were going to walk. We put the drinks in our pockets, and I had Daniel drink one now. We all rejoined in the store where the woman was strangely still taking money despite the goings on outside. We noted that whomever was bombing the US was doing so in open areas, probably to inflict maximum terror. We had no weapons and at that point, other people as well as bombs could be dangerous to us. Our cell phones still worked but we were not able to reach the other kids who were home on the farm. Our strategy became to walk the remaining thirty miles while in view of the road home, but by doing so from just inside the woods where we would not be seen. Since we are heavily wooded here, this would be possible. One of us was assigned to watching ahead and navigating the woods while using the road as a guide to direction. One of us was assigned to walking while watching the sky, the third adult was assigned to protecting Daniel, and helping him walk and covering his head and getting down should we come under attack. We rotated these jobs periodically as we walked, and were making good time. Strangely, we must have been in shock because there was no time for us to become frightened or irrational, just time to quickly formulate a plan in order to get Daniel out of this hazardous situation, with his seeing a minimum of disturbing injuries to people and animals. The adrenaline was not yet waning, and we were successfully walking these miles to head for home, where we would have supplies and other family members when we arrived, when I woke up. I have no idea what this dream means, other than the obvious which is that Daniel travels with us in a sense, no matter what we endure or when. He was alive in this dream and we worked hard to keep him that way, although there was no mention in those moments of my dad. I woke up with a racing heart and anxious.
In retrospect, our plan was less than perfect, as even walking within view of the road takes us near bridges which would likely be taken out in any rational attack.

An Open Note to Daniel and Dad

Daniel and Dad,

I know that you and Dad said in a dream, that I did not have to figure out a memorial to you both, that what I should do with my time remaining on Earth, would gradually become obvious,or at least, clearer. Dad, you have also said, that you would manage "our business in Heaven", which I take to mean our family there, if I will manage our family and interests on Earth. I try to remember this. This blog has been a help to me. You would not believe how many people log on, how many people write me privately, and how you have both touched the ends of the Earth. We routinely are read by people from Indonesia, Russia, Iran, France, Italy, Switzerland,Portugal, Iceland, Germany, New Zealand, China, Japan, Hungary,Poland, Croatia, Israel,Australia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Taiwan, Panama, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Ukraine, the Phillippines, South Korea, and many others. Daniel, I thought we had discussed everything on Earth while you were here, but we hadn't. We had never discussed that your eyes show central heterochromia. Your eyes are so beautiful, and you are so talented in so many ways. I just told you that you had beautiful eyes. Interestingly, the post on heterochromia, where I show examples and discuss it and its implications, is our most frequently consulted post on our blog. It seems also that grief and loss are felt and are universally understood by everyone in the far reaches of this blue planet. For now, I am trying to call attention to the need for screening children with an EKG, possibly periodically through life, in an attempt to detect potential defects in QT interval, or the presence of Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome,or other arrthymic syndromes with an eye to catching and treating these children in order to prevent what has parted us. I miss you both so much. Daddy, perhaps if in medicine, we had been better versed in arrhythmia, the arrhythmia you held for 30 years, would not have weakened your heart, and worn in out when it did. I do these things for each of you.
Daddy, today as I used the Ladies Room in Lowe's, I remembered something I had not remembered for many years. When I was very small, perhaps 3 or 4, we stopped at a gas station so that I could use the bathroom. We used the one men's small bathroom, and while I did, the door lock jammed from the inside. I was very scared that we could not get out. I remember how calm you were and how you told us we would be fine and we would get out even though the walls were brick and the door was metal. I hold on to that feeling today. I know you are ahead of me with Daniel, and that I will ultimately, get out of this room, and join you both, after my time here and my work, is done.
I love you both always, and thanks for watching all the animals there with you for me also !

Dreams in the Early Hours

I had a strange dream last night, and I am not sure exactly what it means. I dreamt that my husband and I had bought a large family home that had been repossessed and was on large acreage. This is not something we would do, as we have built our own farmhouse and don't have specific plans to leave here. In the dream though, the house we bought had been repossessed from a large homeschooling family with eight children. They left quickly, as evidenced by tons of soft toys, dolls, dollsclothes, books, workbooks and knick-knacks everywhere. Then the home sat empty for a year while the bank had fruitlessly tried to sell it. In the dream, we bought it for very little money, and for cash in a desperately sick US economy. Although a bargain, and not an old home, it needed a great deal of cleaning, some repair, and interior painting.
In the dream, our other children were staying with friends and completing activities and school, while Daniel was with us. My husband cleaned the large master bedroom suite first, and Daniel would be staying with us in our room for a couple of days, on a large mattress made up as a bed there, so that the dust and mess would not aggravate any asthma. I got the impression that in the dream, he was about eight years old or so.
Everything in the house was locked or had unusual keys. We had not received an actual key to the house, and had been entering through a window. We had waited to call a locksmith because we believed that we would eventually find a cache of spare keys, which we eventually did. In the basement, we also found a Liberty Safe locked tightly. As we cleaned, we decided that we wanted to return all the personal possessions to the family who had lived there before. There was nothing extremely valuable that we knew of, but much of it was the type of thing that would have been important memories for the people who had made them. There were lots of hand knitted and hand crocheted clothes for bears and dolls. We decided to clean and box all the personal stuff, and try to return it all the the prior owners. I was wheezy as I cleaned out everything and put things away.
I remember feeling happy because Daniel was with us, and our other children were safe, but I was sad that another family had lost the home they had loved and had had such a high mortgage on. The more I cleaned, the more sorry I felt for them.
At that moment workers arrived to help us paint the interior of the house. They came from the area of the house. When I asked them whether they knew where the family had gone, and they said, "Down South". I told them I wanted to return their personal possessions. They told me they had never been heard from again. We resolved to keep their things in the attic for them.
I awoke to the knowledge that Daniel is not with us, in the flesh anymore, and certainly would not be around eight years old, even if he were. I was glad that my sorrow concerning a family I had never met was not real. I realized though, that if they were all together and all alive, then they were in fact more fortunate than we are just now, having Daniel away from us. I did enjoy happily tucking Daniel in, as we did when he was about that age.
I don't know if the dream acknowledges many financial losses which are occuring to families all over the US, or whether Daniel, in dreams, finds ways of spending time with us both. Oddly, my husband dreamt about him also last night also. In my husband's dream, Daniel was sitting in a high chair talking to us.
It's hard to know sometimes, what is a tired brain talking, and what is prophetic in some way.

Incidentally, the house pictured above is not the house in the dream, but the picture represents well the "nook and cranny" nature and feel of house that was in my dream.

Animated Daniel or Toy Story 3 ?

Periodically I make a trip on the weekend to Sam's Club, in the city, about an hour and a half from here. With the price of fuel it is usually lumped with a number of other short trips at the same time. I bought the items I needed at Sam's and as I headed to the checkout I pushed the cart through the DVD section. I looked over and spied the new Toy Story 3 DVD. I grasped it thinking how much Daniel would enjoy it, and then I thought that it was not rational to continue to buy things for him. At that point,I imagined him saying, "Get it. YOU'LL ENJOY IT. I'll watch it with you." I gingerly put it in the cart, while feeling silly.
That evening, the family and I watched it, and it was indeed as if Daniel wanted us to. Daniel would have enjoyed this particular storyline very much, and many of the jokes. Daniel also had all of the toys from the Toy Story series. In Toy Story 3, Andy, the child to whom all the toys belong, has grown to 18, and is leaving for college, and must make some decisions as to whether to donate his beloved toys or not. As some of you know, Daniel, although he was 12 1/2 at his passing was evaluating and visiting colleges, and could have attended one fairly soon. The main character in Toy Story 3, Andy, looked a great deal as Daniel looked before his passing. In addition, to Daniel a really gifted animator in his own right, the Toy Story series was important to him as a future student of kinetic imaging, which was one of his considered majors in college . Seeing a young man who closely resembled him as an animated being was especially touching. I watched the feature, and tears fell down my face for so many reasons. Perhaps Daniel did watch this with us. Perhaps simply the memory of Daniel loving Toy Story 1 and 2 so much was a potent reminder. It certainly felt as if he set it up, and was there. Incidentally, all of Daniel's toys and computers, remain in his room, where we all visit, watch his DVDs, play with his computer, lie on his bed, and talk to him.

Clairaudience

You can think whatever you would like. You could choose to think that I am a bereaved mother, who created the idea that she can "hear" from her father and her young son who passed within 31 days of each other, in 2008. You may also believe that our loving God, left a window open sufficiently to allow me to, on occasion, and particularly in dream, receive occasional communication from them. There is actually a name for this phenomenon. It's called clairaudience. A living person, is on occasion, able to "hear" telepathically something from one who has passed, sometimes a relative, sometimes not. I know that many years ago, when I was seeking the funeral home someone I knew had used, the name clearly came to me, in my head, and I called them first, finding that they were indeed the foreign funeral home that was used. I had attributed this to angels at that time. Since Daniel's passing this has happened a number of times, although most of my communications from them has come in deep REM sleep, around 4 am and I cannot choose or control when this happens.

I remember some things that Daniel told me some time ago. He told me that our brains, senses and bodies are the looking glass through which we see the world while we are here. Each one of us are handicapped in some way, either through our brains and their adaptations, or through impairment of senses, age, or even attitudes. When we are set free, disengaged from our bodies, all the inputs, all the information, and truths come to us correctly and in balance. We are still the people we were before, but without the bodily constraints and "error messages" that we normally must process. Daniel, being a very bright person, particularly in the field of computers, often uses computer analogies in order to explain things. He is also frustrated sometimes in that he tells me something in dream, and I may not remember it in my waking times. Sometimes, it takes several times before I correctly recall what I was told. All of this was told to me in order that I might not grieve so severely. Apparently, once set free from the body "life" is peaceful, and highly interesting. I can miss him and this is natural, but I am being asked not to grieve to a point where my parenting is impaired or my life does not continue in the path itis intended. He has said that he has continued to learn and grow, and that even if he could, he would not, come back. He and Dad will wait on what I understand to be, the "edge of Heaven" until all of our family get there, and then we will ascend to even a higher place there.

For those of you who have read the blog all along, there are a number of times where Daniel and Dad individually have provided what came to be known as factual information through clairaudience.
Consider for just a moment, the possibility that we can be positively directed by those who love us, in this way.

Shopping In Dream before Christmas

I have told you in the past that I occasionally get what I believe are visits in dream, from Daniel or Dad, and rarely people they knew, or that I knew as a child. Last night though, there was a rare visit. I dreamt that my mother who passed in 2007, made a dream visit so that we could go Flea Market Christmas shopping. I was driving, and she sat next to me in the passenger seat of a new Volkswagen Passat I don't own yet, and I don't actually have plans to own , while I drove to the apparently hyped "Super Flea" in a place called Buckingham. (Which to my knowledge, does not really exist.) We never really arrived there, but the benefits were the stops we made along the way, and the conversation we had as we travelled. My mother died in 2007, and prior to her passing, we experienced a several year period of estrangement....probably due to her illness which impacted her memory of us. She was a very private person, who successfully kept her age from her children until the end of her life. She came from England, and sounded as if she were simply visiting from there even though most of her life was spent in the US. She had a remarkable and long life, and in an era where women did not have high ranking jobs, she did. She married late and had children much later than women of her era, and looked good enough and was fit enough that no one knew it. She was the master of her own affairs and my sibling and I did not know of her banking, legal and other personal practices. She ultimately chose a friend with whom she was fairly newly acquainted, in the last year of her life to be her executor, and this did cause some bad feelings.
A great deal of the information my mother passed last evening was private and she would not want it shared here, however, she does say that she spends the time that she watches Earth watching my sibling and not me. She has some level of confidence that I am ok, and that others watch me. She enjoyed the shopping trip as we used to make, and said that shopping with me are among some of her happiest memories. She also said that any misunderstandings between us are forgotten, and are "simply reduced to drops of water which have now fallen into the Atlantic Ocean", and she said it exactly that way. I awoke feeling a little better able to meet some of the days challenges.

Thanks Dad !

My dear Dad passed two years ago this week. He was scarcely in Heaven before Daniel joined him. Now, two of the most important men in my life are beyond the veil. (The one I have known the longest, and the child I had with me for only 12 1/2 years) They can contact me, but I can't reliably and realistically contact them, and if I can, I can't always get reliable answers.
However, today I think I did. I have tried in the last two years to carry on as my father did. He did many charitable things even prior to retirement, and was involved in many different types of ministries of his own creation, although he did not call them that, or take credit for any of it. Dad had several funerals or gatherings of remembrance by different groups of people he had helped through life. One of these projects was a prison ministry for which Dad received certification as a corrections counsellor. This had not been known to me until his passing when I found some of these certification papers at his home. Dad believed in quietly doing good and not taking credit for it. Dad had a longstanding correspondence with a particular prisoner whom Dad truly believes has been wrongfully imprisoned for many years. For the purpose of this blog, I will call this man Richard. The parole board will not reconsider his release because they would have to admit that many things were quite irregular in the courtcase. Dad is not the only group working for this man's release, but Dad may have been working the longest and been one of the most steadfastly communicative.
I have tried since Dad's passing to keep up with many of his charities on his behalf, but I have fallen short. Between our family, and being who I am, and moving through life with my husband and my children and animals, remembering Daniel, there is not enough time to do everything and some of Dad's tasks have slipped.I stopped writing to Dad's wrongfully convicted prisoner because I misplaced his updated address and prisoner number.
This week I asked Dad if he could find it for me, and I would write the man again. Yesterday, on the second anniversary of Dad's passing, a sealed white envelope was to my right on my desk. I had no idea what it was so despite the clutter there, I opened it. Inside was a copy of the last letter I had written to Richard, the man in prison that Dad had helped, his current address, and prisoner number. I immediately wrote a letter, stamped it and will send it out tomorrow. It's almost as if Dad answered me on the second anniversary of his passing.
